Trichur Brothers, Srikrishna Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan are world renowned Carnatic Musicians. Sons of veteran Mridangam Vidwan Shri Trichur R Mohan, the brothers were exposed to Carnatic Music from a very tender age. They were titled "Trichur Brothers" by HH Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Kanchi, Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal.
They had their training under Madurai Shrimati Balamani Eswar. They were trained further by Shri Thamarakkadu Govindan Namboothiri. Later for nearly a decade they were fostered in the nuances of Advanced Carnatic Music, with emphasis on Manodharma singing, by Late Prof. Neyyattinakara Mohanachandran. The brothers were also under the tutelage of Late PadmaBhushan Shri P S Narayanaswami. Currently they are learning under Sri. Reju Narayanan.
The Brothers consider it a huge honor to be associated with "Namami Gange" a project to clean up the National River Ganga. Their composition and music video "Namami Gange Anthem" is now the official video anthem of this mammoth and historic movement.
The duo believes that music is among the most effective tools to spread social awareness. With this in mind, they have also made another music video, "Vande Bharathambe", a salute to the Indian Armed Forces and were personally credited by Shrimathi Nirmala Sitaraman, the then Defence Minister of India.
Their recent production Mera Ram Mera Pran, with lyrics by none other than Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi went viral on the social media with the PM himself, personally appreciating the production.
The Brothers founded a school in the year 2017, Trichur Brothers Online School of Music (TBOSM) to cater to and mould students world-wide in their pursuit of musical excellence. They strongly believe that teaching is the greatest form of learning.
Both, Srikrishna and Ramkumar, are qualified Chartered Accountants who quit their corporate jobs in 2014 to be full time musicians following their passion.
